About

I, Sravan Kumar, a hobbyist nature photographer like many, shoot in leisure.

My first preference is always watching Nature than capturing through lens. The passion of watching Nature had started in my childhood when I used to travel to new places through forests, rivers, mountains and valleys. I always preferred sitting next to a window with a paper and pen noting down all the names of rivers the train passed through and counting the tunnels in-between. I used to ask my first mentor, my mother, the name of each bird I saw.

Learning

My serious nature photography journey has begun after I joined in INDIA NATURE WATCH (in short, popularly known as INW) in 2009. I learnt a lot in INW over years about Nature, Nature Photography, Wildlife, National Parks, Importance of understanding the subject, Light, Equipment, Post Processing etc. with fellow members guidance and suggestions.

I Believe

“Work should give an impression about the person than the person giving an impression on the work”
Hence I never use my photo in my profile.

Art for Me

“Art is the same
whether we use a brush
or see through a lens
express in words
or sing in tune”

Camera Gear

I bought my first film camera in 1997 and never clicked even a single photo with it ironically. I started taking photos after I bought my second camera, a Samsung film camera in 2004. Started Nature Photography only after I purchased the third camera Nikon Coolpix S10 in 2007. Had the first DSLR when my Wife gifted me a Nikon D90 and two lenses, Nikon 18-105mm VR and Nikon 70-300mm VR in 2010. My major investment was in October 2012 for Nikon D800E, my first Fullframe DSLR.
